Merupakan pemeriksaan untuk deteksi adanya infeksi Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Infeksi HPV jenis tertentu merupakan penyebab utama kanker leher rahim. Pemeriksaan ini diperlukan terutama bagi pasien dengan hasil Pap Smear ada kelainan tetapi tidak dapat disimpulkan apakah kelainan tersebut dapat berkembang menjadi kanker atau dapat sembuh (“inconclusive”). Jadi dengan pemeriksaan HPV-DNA dapat diperkirakan apakah kelainan yang ditemukan akan berkembang menjadi kanker leher rahim atau tidak.
